About Jan Rasmussen
As a health care consultant, Jan has more than 35 years of experience in physician billing, reimbursement, and compliance.
Jan is currently the owner of Professional Coding Solutions, a healthcare consulting firm. She has been a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) since 1992 with an active membership in the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the American College of Medical Coding Specialists (ACMCS). As a member of the AAPC, Jan served on their Advisory Board as the liaison to the AMA, and has been a speaker for the AAPC annual conference as well as contributing to the development of the AAPC's independent study and university education programs and proficiency tests. In 1994, she was honored by the AAPC as Networker of the Year. Jan currently serves on the ACMCS Board of Governors as chair of the Ethics Committee and as a member of the Examination Committee. |

Advanced Hands on Auditing Analysis with Experts: Through a hands-on approach, Jan Rasmussen and Kim Huey will review actual chart notes exploring issues associated with choosing or recommending a level of service based on presenting problem, double-dipping History of Present Illness and Review of Systems - when can you count both, appropriate use of "all other systems negative", Past Medical History vs. Review of Systems, additional work up or no additional work up and surgical procedures with or without risk in medical decision-making, expanded problem-focused vs. detailed examination, and other universal problems in auditing. In addition, they will also discuss their experiences regarding effective communication with providers and teaching the E/M system to providers.
